Bordeaux have apparently taken only 3 first team squad members to Greece, and this is a game Panionios have to win in order to progress to the next round. Greek teams in Europe tend to be a lot stronger at home than away, and this team have a 4-1-1 record in the league currently playing in front of their own fans.
Also Bordeaux are guaranteed to finish top of the league no matter what the other scores are in the group. There is no motivation for them in this game whatsoever.
Pre post script: Sadly when I went into William Hill this morning, the 4/6 that I could have got last night had gone, and the price I got was 4/7. This is one of the serious downsides of not using the internet, you miss the early bird action. Having said that if I could have been bothered to get off my arse to get down to the bookies last night, I probably could have got the 4/6, so my fault really for being a lazy wanker.

Post script: Sadly eight time lucky in this current streak wasn't to be, the Greeks lost 2-3 after actually taking a 2-0 lead. Still, nothing too wrong with the choice, just one game too far.
