Dodgy bookie

Good day out yesterday, I'm feeling it today make no mistake. Crawley won 1-0 and both my bets came in with a total profit of over £100 so I'm quite enjoying this at the moment. I know it can go the other way very quickly, but its good to know I can spot good winning opportunities when there's no "bankers" (i.e. the big four playing at home). Wisely stayed out of the games today (to be honest I can't be bothered to walk for 30 minutes to get to the bookies).

Yesterday I was disgusted at the treatment I received when going to pick up £50 winnings from a bet placed over 3 weeks ago at Corals. I only go to the shop in question when I'm watching Crawley play because its close to the pub I frequent (the Downsman). "The bets already been paid out", said the manager. Obviously that's bollocks, as its been on my fridge for those 3 weeks. They wouldn't pay it until they check the CCTV. Unbelievable. I will never bet there again (or any other Coral for that matter) and will write to them to express my disgust.

Either the software is up the duffer or (more likely I think) one of the cashiers is on the take. They've seen thats its been 3 weeks since I won the bet (a four team £15 accumulator) and thought that the slips been lost. It might be the manager, he's a right shifty character. Ironically the shop was on Crimewatch last month as they got held up.

I've already been told to expect a voucher as way of apology, but I was made to feel like I was trying to fiddle them. Never had that treatment at William Hills (or any other bookie). Looking forward to a full kiss arse phone call tomorrow. Worst thing was I had budgeted getting the £50 and using it that day. Still, won about £20 on a fruitie in the pub then got in the game for free (some idiot left the gate open) so that'll save for another day.
