Well, after careful thought I have actually decided to bet my four bets for Saturday after all. I've done the work and research on each of these, I can't let the fact that I lost last night deter me. Having said that, I'm staking £400 (a third of my total bank) on one afternoons football (albeit four separate wagers) and the thought of losing them all frightens me to death.
I need 3 of the 4 to come in to make a smallish profit on the day, getting 2 is not enough.
Bet 19: £100 ARSENAL to beat Tottenham @ 1/2
Bet 20: £100 LEEDS UTD to beat Bristol Rovers @ 2/5
Bet 21: £100 ROTHEHAM to beat Wrexham @ 4/7
Bet 22: £100 MOTHERWELL to beat Falkirk @ 8/13
Currently reading "Born to lose", a rather disturbing story about a compulsive gambler. I will review on here once I'm done. Needless to say its very frank and leaves nothing to the imagination.
Running balance: £1,242.74
Post script: Pleased that I placed the bets now, as 3 from the 4 came in to net a modest profit of just under £50. Motherwell were well beaten though, so the clean sweep was never really in reach.
On reflection, I can't believe that Arsenal won their game, as with 71 minutes gone the score was 1-1 and Spurs had a penalty. 4 minutes later it was Arsenal who were 2-1 up. Didn't really enjoy watching that at all, if I had lost the early game I would have been under immense pressure in the 3.00pm games.
No bets for Sunday, I'm off to Hove to enjoy the 6th Annual Boys Brighton Day Out, don't need any £100 bets to distract from the day.
