Rule 5: Never bet just for the action

Football is now a 7 day a week business, and you can be sure that you can get a bet on every day of the week. Just because I can get a bet on, doesn't mean I should, even if I'm going to watch a game live. This will be hard, as I've always done it. For example my firm is going taking us out to the Chelsea Valencia game on the 11th Dec. I'd usually just back the home team to make the evening more interesting. However the game is pretty meaningless for Chelsea and I'll just watch the game as a neutral.

TV games should carry no more importance than a game not being transmitted and the lower league teams have exactly the same betting credentials as those massive clubs at the top of the Premiership (in fact a lot of the Big 4 games are well over priced by the bookies).
