This should be tight, but I fancy that the Patriots will just be too strong for the Jaguars tomorrow morning.
Running balance: £1,228.49
Post script: Watched the game this morning, as the 1am start was a little too late for me. We have my girlfriends sister staying with us in the lounge, so I had a few nervous hours after I'd woke until I could get to the Sky+ recording. Very tight to begin with, the Patriots class told in the end and they won comfortably 31-20 with Tom Brady setting a new Play-Off record for highest completition rating. Ironically, the player who held that record (Phil Simms) was commentating on the game, but was very gracious about it all.
1/8 is the shortest odds I have taken thus far, and it got me thinking on what would the lowest I'd go. Certainly not the 1/80 on offer for Rangers to beat East Stirling (although the game today was called off). I mean who would place £100 to win £1.25? It's crazy. I suppose some very, very highroller could stake £80m to win £1m, but I'm not sure William Hills would take that size of bet, and I'm sure said highroller would have gone elsewhere and taken the 1/40 that was the best price available and made £2m. Anyway, getting back to my own thoughts on the lowest I'd go, I think for the £100 I'm staking at the moment, I'd want at least £10 back, so 1/10 would be the answer. That's the odds BTW that Hills are offering for Liverpool to beat Luton for the game Tuesday. Considering the turmoil Luton are in at the moment, I think that's safe money.
