The Russian Roulette game stops here........

As some of you may know, one of the benchmarks I set myself from the offset was to be able to put more six game winning streaks than individual losses (all detailed here). This started off ok, but I've changed my approach in recent weeks, and where I was backing one or two dead certs, I'm going for 3, 4 or even 5 bets a weekend with the comfort of being able to take 1 defeat and still make a profit. As a result I'm something like 8 - 2 down in the Russian Roulette game, and there's little chance I'm going to catch up. This new approach is certainly scary, I certainly felt butterflies yesterday when handing over £400, more than a third of my current bank roll. But it's not on one game and I've spread my risk so that I'm not dependent on any one game. The thought of having a "wipe out" weekend scares me badly.

Poor old Football Betting Project (who is trying to earn more than what he would get from an ISA), has seen 5 months of work go down the swanny with back to back defeats after choosing Dundee Utd (at home to Gretna) and Arsenal (at home to Birmingham), as he chooses the banker of the week and puts 10% of his fund on that. It's bound to happen to me that I have a very bad run, it will happen to every true gambler at some point.

Utimately, its making money that is the most important statistic, so the Russian Roulette exercise takes an early bath...........
