There's a good reason that bookies up and down the country allow punters the chance to win hundreds of thousands of pounds on multi-match accumulators; they hardly ever come in. It usually makes a national paper if someone gets more than £10k, so rare are the payouts. It's because, whilst predicting one, two or even three games is do-able, there is always a last-minute equaliser that can scupper all the hard work of the other choices.
Have you seen those sections lists that the big firms put out with the football coupons? The first two sections are relatively simple (although I've often had the easy game let me down when all the other teams have come in for me), but the last couple of sections are very difficult to predict with any level of certainty.
Don't get me wrong, accumulators are fun, and offer good returns for a small outlay. But I'm just going to stick to singles, perhaps a double when I feel confident, for the purpose of this blog.
