Happy new year everyone, hopefully you were all out later than me last night, when I was safely tucked up in bed by half eleven. Hate new years eve, always have done, and with a 6 month old daughter, I have now have a very good excuse to bypass it all.
I've taken a vow to stay away from betting on the net; all my wagers are to be placed in cash at the local bookies. Keeps it real, far to easy to chase losses and lose discipline on the net. Having said that, there are sadly downsides in taking this approach. The biggest one I experienced today, with the bookies shutting their door at 5, I couldn't get a bet on which has subsequently cost me £40. This was because I was at the Crawley Town game this afternoon (a thoroughly enjoyable 2-0 win over a out of sorts Oxford United) and when I managed to finish watching that there was no chance of getting to the bookies in time to place my next bet.
That bet was for John Part to win the darts this evening, at 2/5 I (correctly) thought this is a banker and would be worth the £100 punt. Oh well, shit happens, if I had thought it was that much of a cert I should have placed the bet before the football, lesson learnt!!
